Hospira Bacteriostatic Water is a sterile, non-pyrogenic solution of water containing benzyl alcohol as a preservative. The preservative inhibits microbial growth, allowing the solution to be accessed multiple times when proper sterile technique is used.
It contains no buffering agents, antimicrobial agents other than benzyl alcohol, or added solutes. The solution is clear and intended for use as a diluent where sterility and controlled bacterial inhibition are required.
Hospira Bacteriostatic Water is supplied in sealed, sterile containers and manufactured under standardized pharmaceutical production conditions.
